More than a Century After He Visited Madrid's Prado Museum, Pierre-Auguste Renoir Returns

Pierre-Auguste Renoir, Self Portrait, 1897

This article features the famous impressionist artist Renoir and an exhibition of 35 of his works, some considered to be his most important creations.  The first ever monographic exhibition of Renoir's works will be held at the Prado in Spain.  This is the first time that the entire collection will be shown outside of the Clark Institute, Massachusetts.  Displayed in the collection are works such as: Renoir's self portrait, Portrait of Madame Monet, The Wash-House at Bas-Meudon, The Bridge at Chatou, and “La Loge”
To me this circulation of work through this outstanding loan presents to the Spanish people a great opportunity, as mentioned in the article, "As with all the Impressionists, Renoir is an artist barely represented in Spanish public collection"  The people will be able view the artist in the most important phases of his life.  They will be able to see how Renoir contributed to the impressionist movement and become one of the leading figures.  http://www.artdaily.com/index.asp?int_sec=2&int_new=41879
